A Sky That Stood Still

Above a quiet town, a single cloud remained motionless for years. Scientists came, puzzled. Children laughed and drew faces on it. Elders said the cloud guarded something. One evening, lightning burst from the cloud without rain, etching symbols across the sky. A linguist later discovered they spelled an ancient phrase: “Stay where you are until your heart arrives.” When the cloud finally drifted away, many left the town as well—realizing they had been waiting for permission to begin again.

The Mirror That Reflected Futures
An old mirror in an abandoned inn showed travelers not their current selves, but who they could become. A bitter man saw a gentle elder. A young artist saw a masterful creator. A greedy merchant saw himself giving freely. Some feared these visions; others embraced them. The mirror cracked the day a devoted mother looked into it and saw nothing different. Villagers understood: she needed no change. A note appeared beneath the mirror: “The future begins the moment you believe you deserve it.”

The Cave Part 11
Darkness, and the countless points of light, as if the entire void beyond was filled with the fire of a million stars. I felt as if I was staring into the eternity of a night sky beyond those wooden doors, the place beyond the actual reality, while I stood behind a curtain of scenery, the mountain and sky a mere pretense. And in that void beyond of unfathomable space, there hung suspended a mighty shard of crystal floating in place, with hundreds of a far smaller chunks orbiting around it in balanced but intersecting circles, no two in the same path. These caught the light from the center, and sparkled with inner fire each.
