April 3, 2026, is special for several observances and events:

Good Friday: A significant religious holiday marking the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

American Circus Day: Celebrated to honor the American Circus, a historic circus company.

National Find a Rainbow Day: A day dedicated to appreciating and finding rainbows.

Fish Fingers and Custard Day: A fun day to enjoy fish fingers and custard.

World Party Day: Encouraging people to celebrate and have fun.

These observances make April 3, 2026, a day filled with joy and celebration! Checkiday

My Brief Comments On Each Of The Above:

Good Friday was a regular thing growing up Catholic. Then today meant we could now eat meat again. Fish, I preferred anyway, and still do. It's just not recommended to eat more than twice a week. And now that I'm allergic to beef, it still feels similar to lent, in that I eat mostly fish, turkey, and chicken.

American Circus Day: Growing up, I went to the circus. a few times as a child. Then, as an adult, I visited the circus a few times, also. The first time I remember was when my sister and mom couldn't go because she had chicken pox.

I was probably only seven or eight years old, so she would have been four or five. We brought her a Kewpie doll, and she was so excited.

National Find A Rainbow Day: I remember driving with some friends on a three to four-hour trip, and it had rained, and when it stopped, we spotted a rainbow. As we continued on it appeared that the Rainbow was getting closer to us.

We talked of finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, when suddenly there it was, the rainbow ending in a ditch close to us. We stopped, and all got out of the car to see what we could find. When we couldn't find anything, disappointed, we returned to the car.

As we started to drive again, one of the friends said, "Have any of you thought that we, all of us, are the gold at the end of the rainbow?

Fish Fingers and Custard Day: I continue to eat walleye fish fingers as an appetizer, but it has been a long while since I have had custard. The combination does sound good! During Lent, the local Culver's fast food place serves walleye until it runs out, then it's cod.

It ran out when we stopped there for date night this week. It was only because of the walleye that I agreed to eat fast food on a date night. Hubby loved it. He has his favorites at Culver's, Arby's, and DQ.

World Party Day: I enjoy attending the First Friday Art Walk in a nearby community. I have always enjoyed celebrating Friday when I was working full-time. My father-in-law told me before retirement that every night is Friday night and every day is Saturday when retired!

I loved that idea, and I still do. According to that logic, for me, every night is party night. When I was drinking, every Friday night was for sure party night. Now, I can still enjoy family, friends, and neighbors on Friday nights, and every night something comes around to celebrate.

Others:

National Minority Health Month: This month is to raise awareness about health disparities for minorities. Native Americans are dying from heart disease and cancer at a higher rate than others.

It is to bring attention to prevention, early detection, and cancer care.

National Poetry Month: I support Poetry Month with a Poem a Day in February each year. Then every month on the 8th, my writing group rhymes. Often, it is nonsense rhymes. The fun is enjoyed by all!

Today is a special day for many

Poetry is especially fun for me, and any

time I have the opportunity to rhyme

I will, and invite others to chime

in. Have fun today, now off to climb

the snowbanks at my house, more

snow tonight. Then maybe s'mores.

A nice fire, chocolate, marshmallow

and of course, my fellow!

Oooo, I loveeeeee custard! And it would indeed be so nice if there actually was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow hehehe

  • Interesting read… so many events on this year’s Good Friday. I liked the idea of rhyme day! I have a silly rhyme poem, waiting in the wings. All the best with the snow!

Good job and I did not know about most of these except for Good Friday. I was raised no meat on Good Friday and I am not Catholic.
