My favourite characters on The Simpsons

Moe Syzlak the bartender and underdog on the Simpsons is one of my favourite characters on the series. Everyone has an inner Moe Syzlak in themselves and i know that i do too and i have always seen a part of myself in this character who is voiced by Hank Azaria. Moe's backstory is a very interesting one at that from following the series I learned that he was a actor in a fictional little rascal type show and then his career as an actor when according to Moe an alfalfa type had stolen his shtick of looking into a exhaust pipe and getting soot on his face so Moe in the show had killed the actor. Moe and his tavern contribute alot to the Simpsons show since many of the adults and people of the town of Springfield like to hang out at his bar and drink and i know that it is a long way to go just to say that a majority of the shows stories are set there. Before Moe became a bartender he was also an amateur boxer and his family as it was revealed in one episode that his family were the owners of a successful mattress franchise. The patriarch of the shows namesake the Simpsons that being well known to be Homer is always at Moe's, no matter what happens at some point in the show Homer always says if the episode calls for it "I'll be at Moe's".

An ongoing and iconic gag is that between the Simpsons children Bart and Lisa they call and prank Moe's Tavern and Moe by asking to speak with ridiculously named people and Moe has to say it through the bar and after that the patrons have a good laugh. So Moe realises that he has been made an ass by the phone caller he loses his cool and a good laugh is had by all.

Another underrated character that I love on The Simpsons and see myself in is Gil Gunderson who can't catch a break and that was me for a very, very long time. As I had said about Moe, Gil is also a character who i also see myself in. I root for the underdog and I root for Moe and Gil to succeed. I too have been down on my luck many times always waiting for that break to come along which is why I indentify with Gil Gunderson. It doesn't happen often that Gil catches a break of any kind but when it does you can't help but go "good for ol' Gil". In the show Gil worked as a used car salesman and a real estate agent with Marge when in the episode she had taken work as a real estate agent.

Crazy Cat Lady as she is known on the Simpsons has a very interesting backstory that explains what happened that led to her nervous breakdown and that turning her into the cat lady as she is known today. She is another of my favourite characters on the simpsons and yes I see myself in her. Now she was born Eleanor but i can't remember her last name she was something of a genius who in her early life was an attorney as well as a baby delivery doctor obstetrician and all of the pressure she had been under had led to the breakdown that she had suffered. Sometimes who she was shines through like for instance they have a scene where she auditions singing an opera and also running for a political position for the town of Springfield.
