Evening Rain

We walked and held hands many memories ago my love

Evening Rain

The streets are wet with the evening rain,

lamps casting halos on puddles below,

I walk slowly, tracing the echoes of steps,

each one a memory of you beside me.

The air smells of earth and longing,

every breath carries the weight of absence,

I stop at corners we once turned together,

imagining your hand brushing against mine.

Windows glow with lives I cannot enter,

soft laughter spilling into the empty street,

I linger, hoping to catch a fragment,

a reminder of moments that will not return.

Rain falls harder, drumming on my coat,

I close my eyes, letting it wash over me,

and in the rhythm, I hear your voice,

soft, distant, a thread I cannot hold.

The night presses on, thick and unbroken,

I follow the path our feet once knew,

and though I walk alone, I feel you near,

carried in the whisper of water and stone.

What a cozy poem to read with the one you love and like. Good job.
