Jilted for My Sister
How could he. How could they ?

Jilted for My Sister
He smiled at her, left me alone,
I waited in shadow, chilled to the bone.
Promises whispered, vanished in air,
My heart cracked where he never cared.
I watched him laugh, she took his hand,
A cruel twist I could not withstand.
I seethed in silence, rage unspoken,
Every glance felt like a token.
The nights stretched long, bitter and raw,
I counted the lies, the hidden flaw.
Her laughter rang where mine should be,
A dagger of envy, sharp and free.
I rose from ashes, my fire awake,
I took back the love they tried to break.
No whispered guilt, no sorry plea,
Could tether my soul, could capture me.
I walked through streets he would not see,
My shadow long, my spirit free.
He lost a world, he never knew,
The heart he scorned now boldly grew.
I carved my name in silence and stone,
A life reclaimed, no longer alone.
The past may whisper, sharp and sly,
Yet I rose taller, refusing to cry.
The night around me still holds their spite,
Yet my own flames blaze fierce and bright.
He jilted me, but I found my power,
I bloomed unbound, my finest hour.
I left behind the grief and the sting,
Found freedom only truth could bring.
No sister, no rival, no cruel disguise,
Could dim the fire that burns in my eyes.

Men !!!!!! Not nice sometimes. But I guess women do it too. It is a mean and nasty thing to break someone's heart.
