Parts of me the destroyer left behind

He killed my spirit and trust in men

Parts of me the destroyer left behind

He froze my heart and broke my mind,

Then left broke pieces of me behind.

He spoke in silk but meant in steel,

Each kiss a cut he made me feel.

He wore no horns, no twisted grin,

But all his sins lived in his skin.

He drained the light from all my days,

Then vanished deep in shadowed haze.

He laughed while watching bridges burn,

And taught my trust to never return.

He turned my voice to hollow sound,

My joy now buried underground.

He left a name I dare not speak,

A scar that sings when I am weak.

I walk alone through what remains,

A soul rebuilt from shattered chains
