I met a poet by the river
Sitting with an old typewriter
Poet for hire
The sign read
Pay me to write a verse
I was led to believe
Thusly
For a small contribution
I requested the blessing
Of a lyric composition
How much
Was my not unreasonable question
Pay what you like
So that you feel
The price is right
He said
Whereupon he cast
His runes upon the sheet
Rolled around the platen
Transmogrified they were
Into words thoughts and
Feelings well versed

He handed the paper to me
And I read the script
With something of reverie
Contemplation
On the wide river before us
With grateful thanks to
A brother bard

Awesome way to do poetry, free and unencumbered...very nature friendly way to write and be happy. This may be my new job soon...😸😒
Wonderful - a cool idea but maybe stressful for the one sitting with the card. I posted this in VSS Facebook.
Hmm, if prices keep going up this may be an option for me to sit and write poems. Greate poem!
What a great use of time and skill. Thank you for writing about this. Your own verse does it justice.
Oooo, transmogrified is a new word for me. Also, wow, I never knew poets for hire was actually a thing!
That was a nice encounter
