POWER SURGE
I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR
We are the weaker sex, we’re told,
In muscle and in mind.
Looking back on women’s history,
It’s the opposite, I find.
Men do their toil and grind
By making us a living.
But who is it who when she’s home
Spends her whole time giving?
Men get up and go to work
Then come home and just collapse.
But can you name the last time
You saw a woman just relax?
She’s up early every morning
To get her family fed,
And before she leaves for her “paying” job,
She tidies every bed.
She does the dishes in the sink,
Then, it’s off to work she goes.
When she gets home each evening,
She cooks dinner and washes clothes.
Again, she washes dishes,
Then dusts and sweeps the floor.
She carries all the groceries
After shopping at the store.
She balances the budget,
Makes sure she makes ends meet.
Sometimes she so tired,
She could just sleep on her feet.
Yet, she always keeps on going,
There is no need to urge.
A woman’s second breath, you see,
Is just her POWER SURGE!!
