The Reshaped Puzzle

Fragments that remain.

A Whispering Echo

It returns—a shadow in the corner of my mind,

Faint footsteps echoing from a place I thought left behind,

Unbidden, it slips through cracks in time’s thin wall,

A fragment of the past that refuses to fall.

Familiar yet strange, like a song I once knew,

Lingering melodies that softly construe

The space between then and now—

A whisper of something I cannot disavow.

It settles in, a gentle weight on my chest,

Reminding me of a time long suppressed,

Yet somehow different, touched by years gone by,

A quiet shift beneath the same old sky.

What has changed? I wonder, as it reappears,

Is it me, or just the echo of fears?

It carries pieces—familiar, yet torn—

A puzzle reshaped by the passing of dawn.

And in its return, I find a strange grace,

A chance to meet what I thought I’d erased,

To hold the moment, fleeting yet whole—

A reminder that some things never truly go.
