The World Got A Scary Feel, Please Let There Be No War

The world got a scary feel today,

A quiet across the air,

People pause in the middle of life,

With an unspoken little prayer.

The streets are full of moving feet,

But something rests below,

A wish that travels heart to heart,

A hope the world may grow.

Children run through open parks,

Their laughter light and bright,

They only dream of sunny days,

And peaceful stars at night.

A mother watches from the gate,

Her child runs free and far,

She whispers softly to the wind,

Please let there be no war.

The rivers move through patient land,

The hills stand calm and tall,

The earth was made for living hearts,

And kindness shared by all.

Across the seas and distant towns,

The same deep wish is heard,

Not spoken loud with angry noise,

But carried like a bird.

The morning sun still warms the fields,

The evening paints the shore,

The world keeps turning quietly,

Please let there be no war.

Old men sit on wooden seats,

Remembering years gone by,

They know the cost of broken peace,

They know the reason why.

They tell the young of gentler days,

Of hands that used to mend,

Of neighbours sharing what they had,

And strangers called a friend.

The stars come out above the earth,

So calm and wide and deep,

As if the sky itself still hopes,

For quiet nights to keep.

The oceans breathe against the sand,

A rhythm soft and slow,

As though the planet holds its breath,

And waits for hearts to grow.

Let every voice rise clear and kind,

Let anger close its door,

And let tomorrow wake to peace,

Please let there be no war.

Let leaders hear the silent plea,

From every land and shore,

The simple dream of living well,

And never seeing war.

So hand in hand the world could stand,

Beneath the open sky,

With gentle days for every soul,

And no more need to cry.
