This House
Living here is like
Walking on eggshells
Feeling trapped
Can’t do anything
Miserable
Biting your tongue
Watching what you say
Not wanting to be here
This House
Doesn’t feel like a home
It fees broken
It feels hostile
It doesn’t feel safe
It doesn’t feel happy
It feels like a pretend home
Where you pretend everything is fine
But it’s not
You pretend you’re happy
But on the inside you’re screaming to get away
You want to leave
But can’t afford it
So you stay
In this house
For now
Until we can make it on our own
But for now we make pretend
