LeBron James Is Perpetuating Racist Narratives About Memphis, And The NBA Couldn't Be Happier
With the NBA looking to expand, the city of Memphis has been under scrutiny, and LeBron James' latest comments are making things worse.

So, Lebron is out here talking reckless about the Memphis, Tennessee scene? In his recent statements, he regarded the city as not a hub like Seattle or Las Vegas. His words aligned with Stephen A. Smith (for change). They both agree that Memphis Grizzlies should not be playing in that city.
It has been accused that Bron has been tainted by “billionaire brain rot.” With his wealth, he has now championed causes that might not be in his best interests. It’s like you get to a level of financial elevation and don’t have the necessary oxygen to carry you on through the moments.
Under this semi-capitalist system in which we find ourselves, we must make room for new ideals to be injected into worlds like sports. Property rights must be respected at all times. What James is doing is making his name known for being collectivistic and able to bring a thought of not making money but getting it.
Memphis has been battered by crime in all of the hoopla, Bron didn’t really address this concern. He mainly wanted to show that he could play golf with the white man and be among the billionaire boys club, even among millionaires. It’s that whole idea of establishment that makes it tough for anyone to take LeBron seriously because of this. His disparaging words bring into focus his disdain and irony. He played for his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers which doesn’t have much to offer or more than Memphis but still has respectable people and locales.

James should reserve himself and research how small market teams can still prosper as he well knows. If there is a way for Bron to understand that there is still money to be made in markets like Memphis, he should be aware of the reality of what it means to be one of the wealthiest people on the planet and be proud of that wealth and selfishness. He should champion the free market and demonstrate how he’s focused on maximizing more opportunities for all of the athletes in the NBA and across the wide spectrum of sports.
If LeBron James wishes to see a better basketball organization, why doesn’t he just start one on his own? He’s got the money and the connections. He’s got the fame and is in the GOAT talk. Why hasn’t he considered building his own nation? What is so wrong with the way entrepreneurship has been distorted? Why has it been such an act of evil to pursue financial gain? If he doesn’t want to start his own league, he shouldn’t shut up and dribble. He should, however, know the basics of a free market economy, even if we don’t live in one at the moment.

What is apparent is the fact he has in his mind the possibility to bring his own brand to the table. He is an international megastar who has been playing in the league consecutively for over two decades. In that time, he’s generated funds that would probably surpass the net worth of most of the other players on the court combined. If James is to be taken seriously, he should be careful and tread lightly in accordance to the role he plays as Association ambassador.
By taking the reins as a team owner would be one thing but if he had National Bron Association, then he would be able to flex his muscles as an executive in his own world. He would be able to open up markets. He could team up with other black basketball players like Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. To pull the strings in his own right, he’ll have the power to succeed in his own way of doing things.
