The Winchester Mystery House could be a residence in San Jose, California, which Sarah Winchester, the wife of gun industry titan William Wirt Winchester, once called her own. Nine months after Winchester's death in 1922, the residence started to fascinate tourists. The chateau in the Victorian and Gothic styles is renowned for its worth and its structural merits. There is no evidence to support the claim that it is one of the "most visited places in the world," which is sometimes made. Much of the lore surrounding Winchester House and its owner is fanciful, unsupported, and frequently demonstrably false. Sarah Winchester was born in Modern Sanctuary, Connecticut, in 1839. She was always referred to as Sallie after her devoted granny. In 1862, she got married to William Wirt Winchester.Winchester gave birth to Annie Pardee Winchester in 1866. She was identified as having marasmus, and she only lived for one.
