2024 Soundtrack
Party Train by The GAP JANUARY 1, 2023, we awoke early to finish preparations for guests and our good luck New Year's Day meal for friends and family. "Party Train" by The Gap was blasting throughout the house; we danced around the kitchen while my husband prepared the meat, and we set out snacks. Guests were arriving impatient to eat his exceptional food. We had collard greens symbolizing greenbacks (folding paper money), black-eyed peas to bring wealth in coins, and lima beans and rice, our standard comfort foods for gatherings. He always makes chicken and sometimes his famous baby back ribs.

I am IT . Top Story - January 2025.
Anxiety waves wash over me this December 31, 2024. In years past, there was excitement, or fatigue, waiting for Rocking New Year’s Eve and gastronomic juices flowing, thinking of our January 1st good luck dinner. This year’s end is an exclamation. I am now IT, the last one. When my mother died, the realization exploded in my brain that being the youngest conferred the unique experience of more loss. I would be the last to die, the survivor, my fate that of experiencing more loss. I reached it this year. Here it is. I have arrived. I have no one to ask about a forgotten or dim memory, no one to clarify confusion in the youngest's memories.

Playground War
Please see Parts 1 by Rowan Finley and Part 2 ~~~ The next day, Loretta Gataka got up early, put a lawn chair in her car, and drove to the playground fort. An expert at parallel parking, she was disappointed to see no cars there; now she couldn't show off and pulled right up to the curb. As the sun rose higher in the sky, she sat in her webbed lawn chair, checking her watch. Those little shits should have been here by now. What a bunch of lazy punks. I know they don't go to church and are sleeping in. She heard them before they came into view and before they noticed her.

Banned Drones
ban set high in sky drones are not allowed to fly New Jersey goodbye 🚥 🚥 🚥 the first one is here: The New Jersey drones are causing quite a controversy. After I wrote the Warning? haiku above, now there are warnings to the culprits that they WILL shoot them down (which was my suggestion in the first haiku - if you want to know who is behind it, shoot it down, and you. will know).
