Fun, Dreams and an Adventure of a Lifetime: Recalling Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams Tour
“This was our first chapter. From now on we’ll only be full of surprises,” was recently posted on Coldplay’s Facebook page upon completion of the A Head Full of Dreams Tour in Buenos Aires. The sentiment reinforced the mysterious cloud of uncertainty which hangs over Coldplay’s future as a band. Chris Martin has alleged on more than one occasion the band’s seventh album, A Head Full of Dreams marks “the completion of something.” He’s also proclaimed he doesn’t envision another proper Coldplay full-length in the future. While it doesn’t sound like the band members themselves know for sure what lies ahead for the best-selling rock band of this century, it seems all but guaranteed it’ll be some time before we find out what will come next.

The Death of an Era
The sweatiest day of your teenage life is now coming to an unimaginably sad end. Many 90s kids can say with pure confidence that we dabbled in the wonders of Van’s Warped Tour at one point in our lives. A full day concert of meeting all your favorite bands and artists, jumping into random mosh pits, or even crowd surfing. It was always an exhilarating experience and usually the best day of your summer.

I Won a Radio Contest to Meet Niall Horan—Here's What Happened
If you had told seventh grade me that one day she would be meeting Niall Horan, she never would have believed you. Then if you told her that she would be meeting Niall Horan because she won a radio contest on Twitter, she would have just laughed in your face.

Green Day – Bullet In A Bible: A Riveting Live Performance by a Rejuvenated Act
Rock band Green Day rolled out a glitzy, riveting live performance in 2005, and they filmed it. The act released their seminal American Idiot album months prior and were a band rejuvenated and energised. This live performance was later placed on a DVD called Bullet In A Bible. And Green Day was always praised for their blistering live sets, but Bullet In A Bible showcased the band at their ferocious best.

We Are The Ocean, Lonely The Brave, Go Primitive, and Drop Down Smiling @ The Vault, Rugby – 3/08/2013
The Vault is a splendid little venue in the medium-sized town in the midlands called Rugby. It is anything but mediocre. It always has a pleasant atmosphere, a great sound team, and friendly staff (drawing cocks on a van notwithstanding). The Vault is one hell of a local venue that keeps pulling bigger and better bands every year. And this gig was no exception.

In to the Pit
I have attended various concerts over a number of years, from pubs with 30 people through to festivals with over 100,000. Where I want to be and usually get to be is at the very, very front. Often described as the pit, this especially applies to the heavy metal, thrash metal gigs I attend. As I get older and more fragile I have to consider what I do a bit more so here is my survival guide.

Art Bergmann Schools Halifax
Halifax Urban Folk Festival is a boutique festival that celebrates songwriters and the songs they create. At least, that's what the Facebook page says. In truth, it's an event where Mike Campbell gathers the artists he wants to see, and we can go watch too! This works because Mike has good taste, excellent connections, and supportive sponsors. This year, HUFF pulled off a near coup: they got Art Bergmann to the East Coast. Art doesn't tour much anymore, and mostly does shows in Alberta and BC.

Rock Triple Play: Tesla, Voices of Extreme, and Red Reign
The beautiful and historic Embassy Theater, originally opened in 1928 under the name Emboyd Theater, had a full house for a hard rock event. Tesla celebrated 30 years on tour along with two other excellent, but lesser known bands—Voices of Extreme and Red Reign.
