French Kiss Chapter 14 Hair
I nestled in Frédéric’s embrace at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, the cacophony of travelers’ voices, loudspeakers, and the squeaky wheels of dragged luggage fading as I tucked my head beneath his chin, willing his pulse to sync with mine, pretending I was breathing life into the cells he had dispatched against the cancer. He was thinner. The wig fit him like an inside-out fur cap without the ear flaps, more fur-hair than he ever had, more than his gaunt face needed. It was cut professionally, like some mirage of normalcy. His sooty eyelashes were gone, but the chemo and radiation had not completely erased his five o’clock shadow and caterpillar brows, now pencil lines above his doe eyes.

A Fair Cut
Happy Halloween dearest spirits from here and beyond! Welcome to my newest collection of flash stories, apparently a tradition I'm trying to cement for myself. Last year I completed a series called "The Wicked Carousel", one flash story a week at 1000 words or under. It was fun! And exhausting. So I thought I might just cool my heels in the black water pond this year, but when the wind whispers through white skeletal trees . . . you listen! So welcome to "Fright Feast", another collection that I'll be putting together as an anthology on this wondrous new community available to us. Hopefully I'll complete a story every two weeks.

Chapter 17
I just turned seventeen and still worked at McDonald's after school. Being a junior in high school was better than being a freshman and it had its perks. I got to drive everywhere along with CO-OP which meant that I got to leave school after half a day. We had just switched to college block classes, so we only had four classes a day. I wasn't having the time of my life, but things were good.

Living Arc Angels part 3. Content Warning.
(“NARRATED”) They called the boys back into the room. Once they heard them stomping Christine yelled, “What do you two want for breakfast?” The only responses were a shrug and one “I don’t know.” Not much help exactly. So, they just figured they’d eat whatever was fixed. The four adults began to set about the task of trying to make something to eat, which wasn’t too easy since they had no idea where anything was. They split into teams. Eric and Tyler started looking for all the utensils needed, and the girls started looking for the food, yelling out what they had found so that the guys would know what they were after. They managed to scramble up eggs, bacon, and milk. As they all did their part in the cooking, the boys played in the living room. Tyler, Eric, Andrea, and Christine made sure to look in on them every so often. After all, they were young boys and liable to get into anything they could. The four of them began singing, partly to help the time pass and partly because they were just generally happy to be there.

It had been a few hours since they left Tirn behind in the desolate shack, Yesola had chosen to let him live albeit lacking the memories of the night, his death would only draw attention.
