Centers: Creating Choices for Play
Centers are important for many reasons but the foremost among them is the important work of play. Children learn about the world and are able to process that information by playing. They learn early concepts of math, reading, writing and social roles by playing. Play is our work in preschool.

Five Ways to Eliminate the Power Struggle So Everyone Wins
If you are a parent, educator, CEO, or leader of any kind, you may have, at one time or another, found yourself trying to get people to do something that they, for whatever reason, did not desire to do. Has your kid ever thrown a temper tantrum in the candy aisle, or simply refused to put their shoes on? In the classroom, students often communicate resistance by not being engaged, getting off task or being disruptive. In business, it may look like employees under producing, low morale or work dissatisfaction. However it looks, this is certainly NOT where you wanted to find yourself: faced with a power struggle.

How to Write a Three-Paragraph Essay
How to Write a Three-Paragraph Essay I have always found three-paragraph essays very easy. I excelled at them in college and so I thought I would show a few people how to write a three-paragraph essay with a post on Squidoo. A lot of textbooks overcomplicate the process of editing a paper, when the basic layout is actually simple and very flexible. It also forces the writer to keep their word count down. That is why you will find that a lot three-paragraph essays are very concise. They force the writer to get to the point quickly, which is one of the reasons I like them.

But now, I have the greatest motivation of all. My husband is Brazilian, and speaks (Brazilian) Portuguese. Also, in the future, when my husband teaches our children Portuguese, I want to be involved in their learning process of both English and Portuguese.

Life would be good, I'd find a job easily, and live happily for a few years. That my friends, is called pure ignorance.

I don’t recall other first days of the school like I remember my first day of college. Graduating from high school at 17, to enter college two months before my 18th birthday did not worry me. Categorizing me as smart, and noting I made friends with little effort did not help me on my first day as a college student. My anxiety level was so high, I sobbed before leaving my house. I had no clue then, but I had a full-blown panic attack. After a pep talk from my sister, I got it together and made my way to school. I made it through my first semester with a B-average. However, I did not return to college for another three years.
