The Jewel Theft
Ted gracefully eyed the Jepsen Jewel on display. It was the largest of its kind, and its luster was breathtaking. So, he looked at the cameras and the security to scout the place early. His disguise worked as he continued to the case without alerting the guards. He quietly slipped to the back while the guard was turned around. Only to wait till the time to swap. The crowds thinned, and the lights dimmed as Ted sat still in the background. Slowly the cameras were cut out. Ted came out of the shadows eyeing the precious Jewel. Pulling the glass-cutting tool out of his pocket. Slowly cutting the glass and temporarily shorting the electricity. He reached gently into the case and replaced the Jewel with a fake one. His hand held the priceless Jewel in his hands. His eyes glittered at its beauty, and he carefully placed it in a bag. He picked up his tools, and Jewel packed them away. Back in the shadows to hide for his escape and before the cameras turn on. He felt a gun in his back. A cop said, “You are under arrest for theft of the Jepsen Jewel.” Ted had been caught.

I have no control
Unfortunately, I believe in the power of fear. I believe the prey feeds the predator in more ways than one and I refuse to remain the prey anymore. I and my co-worker plan to execute a robbery on our fellow establishment. Establishments in a franchise can have many bosses but they can only have one disgusting Dexter Lewish. His transfer following the recent complaints shows that he is considered to be one of the special ones that complete the trifecta of abuse and gets no consequence by the law, so we are enacting the consequences ourselves. With the help of Levi, we have access to his office above the supermarket floor and his schedule. Anais was able to get a position there and altered her appearance. Levi was one of the three people that worked closely with Dexter but he understood our plight. The silence after the anonymous profiles we created to tell his stories showed us that displaying his crooked ways in the business might make others care about justice a bit more. The following Tuesday at noon, we convened to steal his managerial past and present digital documents but Anais feared for her new position and reported it.

Contradicting Thoughts
I found an old note while digging through my grandad's attic after his funeral. The words I read are what changed my life. I was in a dark time and needed to hear them. It was as if he knew and guided me there all along. That’s what I chose to believe anyway. I still have the note stashed away with some of my other papers so that nobody can find it. I worry about it getting thrown out one day so now seems like the best time to make a digital copy. I type the words and relive the past. The memories come rushing back as if they had been trapped behind a weakening dam for the last twenty years.
