The term “intelligence” is often used to mean “the capacity for acquiring knowledge and understanding and using this to solve problems.” Artificial intelligence is therefore about creating machines that can acquire knowledge and understand and solve problems. Machines don’t have to look like a human, but they have to function in ways that are normally associated with human beings.
