The Handmaid’s Tale
The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood is a powerful and chilling novel that takes us into a world that feels strange, scary, and yet uncomfortably possible. It is a dystopian story meaning it shows a future society that has gone very wrong. Even though it’s fiction, the story feels real because it’s about control, freedom, and the strength of the human spirit.

Anti-Trump protests 2025
Protests against Trump's return to the White House drew thousands of people to the nation earlier this month. It was much bigger than the demonstration on Saturday. At least 1,200 venues across 50 states hosted the event at the time. Thousands of people, primarily women, took to the streets of Washington two days before Donald Trump was sworn in as president. The People's March replaced the Women's March as the name of the event. Since 2017, it has been held on a regular basis. At the time, the organizers claimed that they were protesting "Trumpism." When Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton to become president in 2016, the People's March was held for the first time. The women then staged a demonstration the day after Trump was sworn in, to which thousands of people showed up.On Saturday, anti-Trump demonstrations took place all over the United States, with participants decrying the administration's immigration crackdown and mass shootings at government agencies. A rally in front of the White House and a demonstration in Massachusetts to commemorate the start of the Revolutionary War 250 years ago were among the events. Thomas Basford, 80, attended the battle reenactment with his daughter, partner, and two grandsons. He stated, "For American freedom, this is a very dangerous time." I wanted the boys to be aware of the country's history and the fact that sometimes we must fight for our freedom. People carried banners with slogans like "Fight hard, Harvard, fight hard" and "No fear, no hate, no ICE in our state" at events all over the country in opposition to the university's recent refusal to cede much of its power to the government.
