Like Hearts, Like Souls
She didn't trust a single one of these people, and she could tell they didn't trust her. They'd only banded together to make it through the city forest in one piece, but she'd be surprised if they made it with their lives. Even though they couldn't see them, she could sense the creatures lurking around every shadowy corner, patiently waiting.

Wendigo
“The unidentified animals which appeared to originate from northern Wisconsin, have now been spotted all over the country and parts of Canada. Remain cautious when outside, and avoid wooded areas at all costs; there are thousands dead from encounters with these animals and they herd around forests. Although they do travel and have been spotted in cities. Researchers have yet to study the creatures, and no photographs of them have surfaced. The national guard may be brought into places most affected, researchers are working on medications that protect the infected. Though progress is slow because there is not much information on these creatures. However, what we do know is they are gray humanoids, between 7 and 8 feet tall, and extremely thin. Live at Five
Live at Five a Trail of Blood and Gore ... In the back part of the park. The part where there was no trail. The full moon shined through the trees in dusty shafts to an agonized figure below. Logan screamed out in pain as human features faded and wolf like ones became more pronounced. There was a canine snout, with wolf like ears, a tail and huge padded wolf feet, vicious claws and teeth. A howl in the park let all those foolish enough to be there after hours know, that tonight that might have been a bad idea.

Lesser No More
The crunching of small stones filled Ajax’s ears as his arm quivered to hold his lantern steady, his eyes struggling to pierce the wilderness around him. It was a cold night, his multiple layers of clothing providing no comfort from the biting winds. The men around him provided no comfort, already used to what this job entailed.

The Househelp
Mrs. Robert Jackson picked up a shiny, golden delicious apple. She frowned upon seeing a dark spot, set it back, and instead looked towards the granny smith. Mr. Robert Jackson preferred tart apples, but she intended to make a pie. Her preference for pies was a mix: ½ honey crisp and ¼ golden delicious, with her “secret” addition of pear. She smiled, pleased with her purpose. This was a gift to Robert for the locket he gave her: a heart, with a red hardened stone that filled the locket space. It was peculiar, yes, but Robert was allowed his odd taste in gifts.
