My New Residence
I resided in 253 Dead Man's Lane in a little town in Delaware about a year ago. I can't recall the name. But it is the setting for this narrative. There's a reason it's called Dead Man's Lane, I've realized. I no longer reside there. Because of the incidents that transpired at my prior apartment, I am currently residing in an undisclosed area. I don't want them to figure out where I am. I hope this makes sense.

Chaos
CHAOS It was 2074 when the world watched as India’s population was scrubbed out of existence by a new strain of the Kala-azar Plague, or what they called the Black Fever. After witnessing how rapidly it disseminated, the other countries began weaponizing it. By 2077 the world was at war, and all countries bombed each other with the weaponized version called Kala-azar 3.0. There was only one problem; it annihilated everything it landed on, not just people. The shelf life of the Kala-azar 3.0 virus was only six days, but that did not matter because, at the end of those six days, the grass, trees, and animals, were all gone. 90% of the human race were infected, and they died a slow, excruciating death. We regarded them as Ragers because the first three weeks, they were full of uncontrollable hysteria and had incredible strength. During that time, the initial panic and starvation generated riots and home invasions. When you looked around, all you saw was devastation and death. Ragers would annihilate anything that moved by beating them until life was gone. It was a dangerous time. Sawyer was only four when the Ragers came. He hid in the barn and could hear the screams of his mother as the Rager beat her to death in the kitchen. Her screams habituate his every sleep. Since then, Sawyer has been roaming the country, fending for himself.

Oblivion
A violent storm swirling with threatening dark clouds, crackling with electricity rumbles over your house. The temperature drops as the wind rips through trees, tearing limbs and thrashing against your window. The blackened sky teems with lightning casting monstrous shadows around your room.

The Devil and Tony Levett
People sometimes ask where authors, especially horror authors, get their ideas for stories. The answer, at least for me, is everywhere. I constantly see things that catch my attention. Some of them are minor and have nothing dark in their nature, but they spark that little voice that says, “What if?”

The Demon
'The Beast of Braunau' had been employed by Doctor Mueller to teach his wife and four daughters the fundamentals of modern art. At sentencing, the Judge asked ‘The Beast’ why he'd done such terrible, unnatural things. He replied, "Modsiw ot htap eurt ylno eht si nerdlihc dna nemow fo msilabinnac dna, redrum, erutrot eht taht em decnivnoc ev'yeht, gnol os rof sbir ym ta dewang ev'yeht dna star evil fo lluf os si ytivac tsehc ym."

Fury
“When we can not sleep we pretend we are dead.” Rain splattered against the warped glass window across the room. The old clock on the wall competed to be heard above the noise. The woman leaned forward in her chair. “I don’t suppose you have trouble sleeping.”

The Lost Soul
Growing up in my parents’ house there were always weird things happening. They used to tell me stories from before I was born of strange noises, feelings, incessant knocking from behind the walls, and apparitions that were frequent in the house. Naturally, because of these stories, I grew up accepting the fact that weird things happened and never really thought anything of them. There were a few nights, however, that things got a little too weird.
