True Love Gets a Dose of Reality
Growing up, we were given the image of love as fairytales, true love, and happily ever after. It gave us a sense of hope that one day our prince charming would come along and rescue us from a tower or give us true love's kiss. The reality, though, is true love can exist only if you want it to. True love doesn't come easy or natural. In fact, it is hard work and will take sacrifice, commitment, and occasionally a sense of doubt. The real question is, though, what happens when true love fails you?

Reasons Why Gold Diggers Are Bad for Relationships
Gold Diggers are everywhere these days. The dictionary defines a Gold Digger as a woman “who becomes or tries to become romantically involved with a rich man in order to get money and gifts from him.” Um, excuse me? Maybe the dictionary hasn’t been updated in a few years because male Gold Diggers are just as common these days. (Resist the urge to vomit, please.) So I turned to the Urban Dictionary, which says a Gold Digger is “a person who goes out with you fo’ yo’ money.” This is verbatim people. But in all seriousness, this insanity just needs to end. And here’s how.

Is Power Play in a Relationship Worth It?
Power is defined as the ability or right to control people or things. We’ve all heard the saying "he wears the pants" to refer to a man who basically holds all the "power" in a relationship. But I always say…the best relationships are the ones where no one is wearing pants. But all kidding aside, to maintain a healthy relationship there must be a delicate balance of power. Each party involved should feel the freedom to truly be themselves and that their opinions and concerns matter. Everyone has something that they are good at, and the best partnerships work together as a team, acknowledging each other's strengths and weaknesses. So you want to have a balanced relationship? I’ve got a few ideas on how you might get there…

Why Communication Is Key in a Relationship
Good communication is the basis of any healthy relationship. Whether you are talking or listening, both are equally important. Men and women communicate in different ways, but it’s clear that for any relationship to work we need to find a common ground. Communicating happens not only through words but by body language and tone of voice as well. As human beings, we have a basic need to connect with others. In fact, true intimacy comes from revealing your "true self," which is done through proper communication.

When Is the Right Time to Bring Your New Relationship Into the Bedroom?
I’m sure everyone has read at least one book about relationships from the so-called "experts." Each author has a different opinion about intimacy, but an overwhelming majority of them advise waiting for two to three months before "hooking up." Personally, I’ve never dated a man that is willing to wait that long (and even I couldn’t/wouldn’t hold out for months on end). The truth is that everyone is different and there are no rules. I know couples that hooked up on the first night they met and are happily married with kids. Still others waste time dating for months only to find out there’s no sizzle in the bedroom. When to get intimate is a personal call only you can make. But I do have a few guidelines regarding this subject.

You Don't Like What?!
When I was young, I was tall, lanky, and, as my mother would put it, "I had arms and legs going everywhere." During that time, I didn’t like my body. I am still tall, lanky, and have arms and legs going everywhere, but I have come to LOVE my entire body but especially one part… my legs. *SMILE*

The Rights and Wrongs
Talking from a place in my life where my relationship is at a crossroads. Meaning; either we'll continue being together or fall apart. It's made me think and reflect on every mistake I (mainly) and my girlfriend have made in our time spent together.

How To Drop the L Bomb the Right Way
Love makes the world go around. Love conquers all. It’s all about the love. Truly, love is one of the most important basic human needs. So why is it so hard to say? The L bomb is just what it sounds like…the first time someone says "I love you." Apparently, some men (I’m guessing the eternal bachelor types) compare saying "I love you" to an explosion with potentially disastrous consequences. But falling in love is an amazing experience and life just wouldn’t be the same without it. Nothing else in the world can make a person feel as special as when they are told they are loved. So I have come up with some helpful guidance when it comes to dropping the L bomb…proceed with caution!

Tips to Make the First Date Great
Chemistry is a very tricky thing. The definition of chemistry is a strong attraction between two people. Science can’t describe it or explain why it’s there. It could be anything from the sound of his/her voice to the way he or she smells. But if you’re really listening to your intuition, you should be able to tell if there’s any chemistry on the first date.
