social media
Social Media for modern lovers in the digital age.
From Lockdown Leggings to Art Supplies
2020 was a year I could never have predicted, it was certainly a year my credit cards did not see coming. It began with my usual ideas of what I was going to do. Mainly attending competitive agility shows with my dogs and try to qualify for some of the big events (Crufts, Olympia). I was thinking about my caravan and travelling all over the country with it. I was looking forward to meeting up with friends, some of whom I am only able to catch up with once or twice a year.

Not So Jedi Purchase
2020 was already a different kind of year for everyone. I'm pretty sure I don't need to explain why! So, if you're like me you wanted to keep your shopping in the malls limited over the holidays. I swear I spent more time on social media in 2020 just looking at ads. In November and December, I bought every Christmas gift off either Facebook or Instagram. I purchased a light-up piano for my autistic daughter, I purchased my oldest daughter a crown ring, I purchased my brother-in-law a small projector to watch Netflix on in his room, I even purchased a star in the sky for my stepdaughter, and many more cool items. I felt pretty good about my purchases. They all even arrived on time. Except one! It was a duel lightsaber from Star Wars. The video and pictures for this item were epic! Here let me show you...

The diet culture trap
Over the years, I have gained a few kilograms. From medication fails to be locked inside, due to Covid-19. Sometimes, my teenage self creeps into my head, because back then, I was too young to understand the societal pressures of being thin. It was thin, or nothing. Big was not beautiful. So, I lost a heap of weight, and not in the healthiest way either. I am now twenty-six years old. I am big again, and I am trying to believe I am beautiful. I changed my perspective and started to follow plus-size accounts on Instagram. It was a nice change to see a bunch of humans from around the world embracing the idea that all bodies are beautiful.

My battle is with Facebook
Sometimes I see posts from girls in a large Facebook group I am a part of and I think to myself how the hell did they spend all that money without realizing until now? Or I will look at their Afterpay balance they are sharing and think why do people spend so much on useless things?!

#NotebookChallenge21
It was an Instagram and Twitter thing, but she’d been obsessed long before that… long before it had become a; “thing”. Now, it was all about the photo, not the content, not the sharing. You found the notebook, took a quick snap and posted it on social media, before you even looked inside. Nowadays it was just a hashtag. #NotebookChallenge21.
