Through the Lens of Gia
Immersing in threads of hope and insecurity, pain, and trauma, the injustices, fears and uncertainties, the feeling of being unseen and unheard, not being witnessed, or validated, along with the actions of others can have bold consequences for our careers in the entertainment industry, and especially in our personal lives. These elements of human behavior and human being ness can significantly influence our social development both as individuals and as artists.

Holding Up a Mirror
I am an actress and director. I am also a theatre reviewer. I have not been able to earn as a reviewer since mid-March. My many wonderful artist-friends have not been able to earn performing or directing or designing since mid-March. We miss sharing our work with audiences. We miss being together in the "room where it happens."

The Heart of America
Somedays I wake up and think we are living in a movie with all that is happening in the world. There area almost 300,000 deaths in the world to date, and every day more people get sick and die. With over 4 million people sick in the world. In my family alone we have over 20 front line workers. Each Tuesday my uncle has created a call for the family to get on and check in on each other. It is a time when you don't know if the person you love most will live though the next day.

The Broken Display Case
The village’s four corners held a familiar feel. Maybe we’d travelled this way to visit the farm. Those childhood visits to the farm I thought were my parent’s friends. I learned my years later, they were family on dad’s side. My parents were never big on explaining family relationships.

Diary of a Hairstylist
Today I feel compelled to share my thoughts. I just watched a video made by a Hairstylist in GA, one of the first states to re-open salons during the pandemic. It was extremely well done and informative. It shows all of the policies and procedures put in place to "safely" open a salon during the pandemic. This particular stylist works out of a single chair suite, not unlike my old studio in Hamilton, Ontario.

A Standard Above the Trees
A bad tooth had kept me up all night. I wasn’t too concerned with the lack of sleep, because apart from the occasional lifting, bending and writing, my work didn’t require a whole lot of physical effort. Despite sleep, I knew I could keep my clients happy and engaged.
