War has been declared against my dyer!
I have terrible luck with washing machines and dryers. Choosing between the $250.00 tried-and-true and basic model or the $1,300.00 model that does all the folding, putting away, and washing for you is up to you. No matter what- they'll only last about a year in my house. The most recent victims have been around for about a year. I realized four months ago that I had to run my loads through the dry cycle three times before they were dry. The lavender and vanilla in the dryer sheets could not conceal the musty smell by then.

Welcome to the Program
We are sitting in an office with no windows and no decorations. It feels more like a closet than an office. Mildew creeps onto the edges of the ceiling tiles, and the man behind the desk looks like he would rather be anywhere else. “I absolutely must get some decorations up,” he tells us. "I've been here for four weeks but this will be my second week with an office." He wasn't embarrassed; it felt more like a brag. Oooh, an office. Go Trent.

I was too early to check in at the Travelodge this morning but that didn't stop me from trying. Even after exercising my undying boyish charm and modesty at the reception desk I still could not get a room until mid-day. So, nothing else to do apart from heading to Bardo's Lounge on The Colonnade for breakfast.

Invasion of the Shrew
To preface this story, you need a setting. My wife and I were living in the lower level apartment of a house in Milwaukee that had been split into a duplex. Built in a917, the house was not well-insulated. In fact, like other houses at the time it wasn't insulated at all, and we were in the basement, which for the most part kept the temperature a constant. This was a plus when we toured the place in late Fall, when it was a pleasant 68 degrees in there, and it was pretty good in summer when we were able to get by with fans while our upstairs neighbor sweltered. But it sucked in winter when the temperature outside was below zero and there was two feet of snow on the ground. Then, without central heat, we were able to only keep the average temperature in there at about 55.

In the bird world, the Corvidae family are definitely the scholars of their kind. They are trainable problem-solvers. Researchers have been amazed by the brain-power these birds possess. When it comes to the Corvidae family, there isn’t much scientist can’t agree on. However, there is one bird whoo’s evolutionary timeline and behavior has sparked a little debate. Whoo is this mystique feathered friend that challenge researchers? The Owl, of course.
