Saladin was a renowned Muslim military leader who became the first Sultan of Egypt and Syria, and he played a significant role in the Crusades during the 12th century. Born in 1137 in Tikrit, Iraq, Saladin grew up in a region engulfed in political turmoil. His Kurdish ancestry shaped his upbringing and instilled in him a deep sense of honor, loyalty, and Islamic values.
