At first when I started my journey with the paranormal I didn't consider paranormal the same thing as spirituality. Now that I looked into it I changed my mind. Spiritual is defined as relating to or affecting the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things. With paranormal you are dealing with spirits and things that don't have to deal with the physical realm. There are some things that have to do with the paranormal that are physical like cryptids. I think that what had made me not want to consider paranormal as spiritual is that when we talk about spirituality we think more of religion. Also with paranormal people can believe in it without believing in spirits and religious stuff. People can just believe in ghosts (different than spirits) or cryptids. Spirits and religious things are only part of the paranormal world.

My first memory of tarot cards was a hushed secret I shared with my mom, Donna. The deck was tiny, what I now know is referred to as a mini-deck, but it was exactly the right size for my spider leg-thin 13-year-old fingers. My 5 Favorite New Moon Rituals
The new moon is upon us! Just like it does every month, the new moon has it's phases. One very important moon phase is the New Moon. Now, I know what you're thinking: "Al, we know you live in California, but did you really have to go all 'California' on us"? The answer is, what does that even mean? Well, when it comes to the people who have asked me this genuinely, it's that I'm getting super in touch with reading about how the moon can affect our attitudes and our lives. It's actually pretty eye-opening and I recommend you read into it. However, if you're reading this then I also think you're already aware of what I'm talking about. Anyway, when there is a new moon, I like to do some different rituals. I'm not sacrificing anything or sitting in the middle of my apartment, surrounded by candles and speaking in tongues. With The Empress, Death and the Sword of Truth --the Ace of Swords-- we find ourselves in a unique position. One where we realize there are some things, no matter how familiar, how dear or how woven into the fabric of our lives, that no longer contribute to our happiness, comfort, sense of self or ability to embrace who we are at the depths of our being. This is a week of gentle honesty with ourselves in which we can see what needs to be released for us to regain a positive sense of self. We also see a determined honesty that allows us to speak our minds in a way that’s simple, direct, and understanding of those who will be impacted by our decisions. Though the Ace of Swords often urges us to use its sharp edges to make a point, the Empress adds the compassion needed to be honest without anger or retribution in mind allowing understanding to soften the edges and still make the point.
