What gives you the right

I am my own woman. I do things my way not yours

What gives you the right

to think I will just fall

at your feet?

This girl don’t jump

to any man’s beat.

No one can label

or stamp me a his,

no way now,

no way ever.

I jump to no one's eat;

mama taught me

to be my own self,

a girl like me

should be wild

and running free.

I shine like a diamond,

embracing my soul.

In every heartbeat,

I carve my own way,

a warrior of love,

come what may.
