Rye Duo Helps Defeat Somers 19–9
After giving up 34 points to John Jay last week, Somers would gladly have taken a 19 spot against Rye in their follow up. The same goes for jumping out to a 9–0 lead after trailing the entire game last Friday. But following two crucial momentum-shifting turnovers, Somers could just not keep up with the crossfire between Rye Quarterback Declan Lavelle and his favorite target Matt Tepedino.

For many, the return of professional football is a favorite time of year. We get to be reconnected with our favorite players and football loving friends. No one can deny that watching football comes along with much debate among fans and sports newscasters. Why You Should Watch the NBA This Season

Athletes Aren't Overpaid
Some athletes in professional sports make millions of dollars in salary and endorsement. When the average person looks at that they think that they’re terribly overpaid. I often hear the same argument: “Why are these people getting paid millions when teachers and police make a fraction of that amount?” The best statement is when they think say that all these athletes do is play a game and get paid for it.

Should the NBA Swap to the Best 16 Team Playoff Format?
Lets be honest. The NBA is fun to watch, but ultimately, we already know who will win the NBA Finals before the season begins. This makes the season not as fun to watch and the playoffs incredibly boring, especially in the Western Conference. The Warriors have typically grabbed the top seed, unless the Rockets have a stellar regular season, and then come out on top. And the East, until this upcoming season, was dominated by LeBron James and whatever team he was playing for at the time. But now he's gone to the Western Conference, where it seems the majority of the talent has gone. I mean, for crying out loud, the majority of the teams who didn't make the playoffs in the West, had better records than half of the teams that did make the playoffs in the East.

In the many generations since the founding of the sport, a number of phenomenal players have graced the baseball diamond. While there are so many greats to consider, there are a few outliers who can truly be called some of the best players to play the game. When considering the greatest to ever grace the diamond, so many statistics must be considered. As such, it was difficult to narrow down the greatest of all time, and some framework must be established for any such list. Like every sport, baseball has its super legends who go above and beyond the bar of greatness, setting new and sometimes unsurpassed standards. Accordingly, this list will be organized by position (not by ranking), proposing an all-time great starting lineup. George Voinovich, late Gov. of Ohio, said it best back in 2009 when asked, what is wrong with the Republican Party? He answered: “We got too many Jim DeMints (South Carolina) and Tom Coburns (Oklahoma). It’s the southerners. They get on TV and go ‘errr, errrr.’ People hear them and say, '…these people, they’re southerners. The party’s being taken over by southerners. What the hell they got to do with Ohio?'"

Lifesaving Sport
I remember my first national competition in New Brunswick. I was in the first race of the day, the Ocean Woman. I stood on the line, stomach turning. I almost threw up. I looked out at the waves and just remembered: I trained too hard to get here to not do it. The waves were bigger than I was used to, maybe five or six feet. I had been training on a lake, this was an ocean. How could I stay on a surf ski? How could I swim through this? How would I be able to catch those on a paddle board? I’ve seen lots of those Australians do it on Instagram and YouTube, but this was real life! And as you can probably guess, I puked on the start line. But, as you probably wouldn’t guess, I won silver. I was behind one of Canada’s best athletes who had just came back from Australia to play with the big guys, which is what I will be doing. It’s all very exciting and scary but when people used to ask me what I was doing after high school, all I could really say was “traveling.” Sometimes I would say I'm training for swimming, but not often. Lifesaving as a sport is wildly unpopular in Canada. It’s the climate. In Australia and New Zealand and South Africa, the sport is a sport. It’s dangerous with those waves, the competition is incredible, and those athletes look like they’ve never been inside before. But the thrill is worth it. And the people.
