The Lonely Sports. Top Story - May 2018.
People love to talk about the "community" aspect of sports. They talk about the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a team, about the human instinct to work together and how sports facilitate that. They talk about teamwork and fulfillment and friendship and trust. But those are the sociable sports—the team sports.

Dreams and Nightmares
At the age of seven or eight, I started to play basketball. As a kid I played a lot of sports, but that day, when I touched the orange ball...I felt a connection. You know it's sometimes that you have that feeling in your guts showing you, in a way, that this ball, this sport, IS your destiny. Even though I was a child, I knew what I wanted to be when I grow up. A professional basketball player. Yeah. I was sure. I started at a team in our town, made some friends for a lifetime, and it felt good having my teammates as my best friends. I felt more secure and good about myself, as a kid that wasn't very social. Days, weeks, months, years going by, years of hard work, sweat, pain, wins, and losses, someone saw me at a game where I dropped 25 points and told me, "I want you to try out for the team before the national team." OH BOY, was I excited. Who would've thought that I would have that opportunity? And without asking my parents, I instantly said, "I'll be there sir."

Best Shutdown Cornerbacks in NFL History
In my opinion, cornerback is the second hardest position to play in football. Corners are asked to cover the tallest, most athletic players on the field, blitz the quarterback, and help come down to stop the run. Covering players like Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, and Odell Beckham Jr. one on one is hard enough as it is, yet they are asked to do more.

Let's document how this series has gone so far.

Best First Overall Picks in NHL History
Whenever you're taken first in the NHL draft, a lot of expectations are attached to you. First overall picks are generally tasked with saving a franchise and becoming the centerpiece of a rebuilding movement that lasts years. Usually, who the first overall pick will be is decided months before the actual draft. That is not always the case though, with many asking who should the New Jersey Devils take in 2017.

There are multiple eras in the NFL where teams have had to persevere, whether it's a color barrier or player strikes, it's the coach behind that effort. There have been many successful head coaches, but only few can be considered the greatest of all time. Best NHL Goalies of All Time
It is almost impossible to win the Stanley Cup without an all-star goaltender, especially in today's NHL. Regardless of how many chances you create or goals you score, it is all for naught if you can't keep the puck out of your net. Goaltenders are the last line of defense. They can keep you in games, steal an important series, or even lead you all the way to the promised land of winning a Stanley Cup. The best NHL goalies of all-time have accomplished all three of those feats and they did it without breaking a sweat.
