Rousseau's Last Tour
This was a strange comfort to me these last few weeks. Actually, more than a few weeks. I began this book at the beginning of the year, and put it aside as I realized that I was reading not a fictional account of a life, but the very true thoughts of a writer who has put his fingerprints over much of what I know of French thought in that era.

Cringe Benefits
For Paul and John's 47-Word Challenge: If I had just minded my own business and decided to stay out of the way and not put my two cents in and kept my big nose out of it and stayed in my own lane, I would probably not be too embarrassed to talk about...

Mobius Stripper
I wanted it, and I got it. There were always things about The Prism that bothered me, but those thoughts were unspoken, unwritten and hopefully - this is where I got into trouble - unheard. The Ice Slick: An Apology
Dear Montréal, Well, this has been a fun two days. Ha, ha. Sorry, I am not well-known for my sense of humour. Often I have been told that I should mind my own business and know my place. Offensive, yes, but I can understand the sentiment. But I needed to vent a little before the season was over. I often feel that you do not appreciate what I give you every summer, and that winter is the price you gotta pay.

Misdirection
Ahem... I know that it might seem strange that I am one of the people lifting a glass to wish a toast to the happy couple, but I have been told to do this in order to take up your time and make sure that we are all very much in our cups. They decided that they wanted to hit the road and they needed me to wish them all the best.

This Ain't Fiction!
To quote from the Challenge: Write this in whatever format and Vocal community you want, as long as you are not writing fiction. If a longing poem suits your needs, go for it. If half your reasoning is a memoir-style background to explain that all you want is a nice garden, it qualifies.
