Organize And Downsize
Locked Up - They Won’t Let Me Out As we hear news in Richmond, VA that the city will be on lockdown until at least May 28th, 2020, some may feel discouraged. We may be forced to consider the fact that this date could be pushed back yet again. Whatever the reason, there’s no denying that people are eager to partake in activities outside of the home.

Quick Dirty and Wrong
Quick Dirty and Wrong For a long time I have wanted to start writing, not to write a book but to see what it does to my thought’s. According to people smarter than me writing is a form of thinking. A lot of people talk about the benefits of writing to clear the mind and even inspire new ideas and bolster creativity. I tend to have a messy and unstructured mind so I am interested to see what regular writing does to change this.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow
This is it. This is the time we've been waiting for. We all came into isolation without knowing what to expect. It was a new, challenging, uncertain time for all of us. We've worked hard, baked and cooked like there's no tomorrow, lounged, stayed at home, exercised, binge-watched countless series and kept our distance from each other. However, we are ready. Ready to face the outside world and be free from the four walls we've been in the past whatever weeks.

Expectation Beyond Isolation
Initially there were so many things I had yearned for when the isolation began to affect my well being. I was in constant longing for activities like getting bubble tea, hitting up Chiu Quon Bakery, going to my improv class at IO, and most importantly making money to be able to do those things. None of these desires have subsided, but they are no longer the bus driver on route to Freedom Town. What is navigating my post quarantine intentions now are the changes I have made in my life during these two months. I'm most excited to have the habits I've formed in quarantine exist in life outside of confinement.

I Graduated From College in 2019...Now What?
I was lucky enough to graduate college with the class of 2019, right before shit hit the fan. Graduating college in 4 years, as someone who hates school and always had learning difficulties growing up, was a massive accomplishment for me. I went on to take my Photography degree to the only place I felt like I could use it in the way I needed to - New York City. After studying photojournalism and documentary photography in school, New York seemed like the perfect place to achieve my digital art dreams.

Spend In Good Company
The 2020 COVID-19 pandemic has left many people stranded and confused. The sudden change of daily routines and habits have created discord, angry tones, and a fear of social contact and proximity. People wander timidly in grocery stores with facemasks and concerned looks over empty shelves of paper products, staple foods, and their wallets. Jobs have been erased (based on TradingEconomics.com, the percentage has increased to over 14%; a 10% jump, which has been unprecedented and unprepared for by most). Families struggle to acquire household necessities, and trudge through the daily emotional burdens to try and create something worthwhile with their quarantined days. It is a global event that has tested our way of living, our fortitude, and our humanity.

Millennials, Failure and Perseverance
Millennials, Failure and Perseverance As I write this, I know three things for certain; One is that it won't apply to everyone. The second is, it will apply to most more than they care to admit. The third is we can grow, overcome and adapt.

How to Feel Productive in Quarantine as an Unemployed Millennial
1. Start Investing Your Money I had never bothered to spend much brain power considering what my money was doing before quarantine. I always had a job, spent some money, and saved a modest amount, but that was about the extent of my financial literacy. Now, unemployed and anxious about my future financial stability amid this pandemic, I decided to finally invest (pun intended) some of my time in understanding my money. Through just a few hours of diligent googling, youtube video watching, blog reading, and more googling, I was able to gain enough of an understanding of basic investments and savings strategies that I felt confident dipping my toe into the financial planning world. I first moved a portion of my savings into a high interest savings account, which increases the annual interest (compounded monthly) that your savings are making. If my money is going to sit in a savings account, it might as well be making me more money sitting there, even if it is only a few dollars difference. I also invested a chunk of my savings into a diversified long term investment portfolio, after discovering robo-investing. This tool allows for hands-off investment with little to no management fees. While this may not be the best option for financially savvy people, it works well for financially challenged students like myself, who are not out here managing millions of dollars. I have also been using the app Wealthfront in order to track my savings, spending habits, and investments in order to hold myself accountable (Wealthfront app: https://www.wealthfront.com/c/affiliates/invited/AFFB-EFAQ-ZXX8-H92Z)

First Day of Freedom
Right now, like everyone else, I’m thinking a lot about all the things I wanna do as soon as this quarantine is over. Even though I’m always content with staying at home, this has been a very extreme stay-at-home situation, and it’s been going on long enough that it’s starting to drive me a *little* insane. (Trust me, that’s saying a lot.)
