Survival Journal Entry 4
Over the last couple days things have been kind of quiet. Very busy but quiet, which is good. We went up to Big Bear and good news, I held it together. We finally got a trade deal figured out after a couple hours of negotiating. For every 2 pounds of produce, we will get 1 pound of venison. It has been a long time since meat was not a delicacy for us so I am really excited to introduce a new diet into the community.

The Horrifying Truth Behind Lake Bellagio
The glorious roar and dazzle of the fountains left one last glitter in my eyes as the music to Frank Senatra’s "I Did it My Way" came to a close. Another gorgeous, romantic show at the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas. The online reviews were right. Those fountains were a “must-see.” I don’t know if it was the thrill of the show or simply the star-struck wonder of Vegas, but I leaned over the fountain balcony a few moments longer than everyone else, taking it all in. As the fountains sputtered off and the lights dimmed, I saw patterns left in the still, dark water from the fountain tracks used for the shows. They looked like alien crop circles under a wide, dark-blue lake. A strange chill swept over my body as I gazed into the depths of Lake Bellagio.

Frozen Forest
The Cold swept around the forest carrying its chilly hand over every branch on every tree. Her long, wicked fingers ran through the leaves, leaving a layer of frost as her trademark. Below the frozen canopy and lying on a thick tree root, slept a young woman. Her breath created white miniature clouds in the air. The cold reached down and pressed her icy finger on the woman’s nose, breaking the dream that she was having.

5 Horror Movies for Non-Horror Fans
Sometimes loving horror isn’t easy. While we personally love having the crap scared out of us, or watching a bunch of teens being brutally devoured, for others it’s a living nightmare. We all have that one person in our lives who flatly refuses to watch anything that remotely resembles a horror, either out of a lack of appreciation for the genre, or simple because the idea of deliberately terrifying ourselves for pleasure is moronic, or legitimately terrifying. If you’re lucky it’s someone you don’t care for, a friend of a friend you see occasionally and begrudgingly. Other times it is your significant other or best friend. If the latter is the case you are in deep trouble. When it comes to spending quality time with good friends the last thing you want to do is waste it arguing over what to watch.

Spectrophobia
I try to avoid mirrors, or my reflection to be more accurate, at all costs. It's just not for me and I don't quite understand why others spend hours looking into one, what do they see that I don't? Do they see the afterlife? A world unbeknownst to me? A world that I am forever forbidden to lay my eyes on or ever step foot in? It could be nothing. They could just be looking at narcissism himself, but how should I know? I don't see a damn thing. To be honest, I haven't looked in a mirror in ages, I've forgotten what I don't see. Maybe if I look, just once, I'll be able to see? No! I can't! Wait, what is this pain in my hand?

Words for the Dead
What I'm about to share with you is what happens to man with no interactions, nothing to share, nowhere to go and nothing to do. After such a time, the human mind molds to its surroundings to the point where it doesn't even know it's alone anymore. This is a brief, yet never-ending look on the inside of a desolate life to some, but to one man, a carousel of very much unwanted attention.

Survival Journal Entry Three
No journal entry yesterday because not much happened so it will just go in with today's. Our scavengers came back and gave a full debrief of what happened when they were attacked. It turns out that the San Bernardino crew has some serious fire power so if we are going to try and take them on, we are going to need to be very cautious and prepared. I'm thinking that we need to meet in an open area so that our snipers have a clear line of sight and flanking will be hard. Our marksmen are probably the only way that we can get out of the encounter alive. We sent Carl out to see if he can find out where their main base is.

Review: 'A Quiet Place'
While horror is a genre I don't find as much success in, if it has a great concept, then I am up for checking it out. This latest one has a particular idea that seemed to have the potential to have strong crowd participation in order to get a highly memorable experience.
